We recently had the pleasure of attending InnoTech, a conference that brings together bright minds in technology, media, and marketing, and learn more about how innovations in these fields are changing our world. One of the speakers was Geoff Moore, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Circuit of The Americas, who spoke during about the difficulties of bringing Formula 1 to Austin, and paralleled that problem to his experience at the Dallas Stars Hockey Club.
We found this analogy quite appropriate and a great way to explain to the audience, though talented and diverse but not a Formula 1 crowd, the difficulties in this concept. Geoff's presentation included an interesting philosophy that compared Lance Armstrong and Mike Modano with Mark Webber, in an effort to get the American spectator to engage motorsports even more.
Geoff also spoke about the various features of the facility and highlighted the wide range of events to be held at COTA, and even showed the now viral video of Darrel Waltrip in an Aussie V8 Supercar nearly sh*tting his pants (Not the Corkscrew, NOT THE CORKSCREW!!!).
Since Geoff has joined the COTA team, there has been little press about his work there. Kerri and I were so pleased to meet him and welcom him to Austin, and learn more about him. Hope you enjoy the interview!
